I have been receiving emails lately with offers for marketing ideas that are a bit outside of the box and while most are so far fetched, it got me to write a blog here today.
Some, like business card on a pack of gum at an average of $5.00 / pack seems a bit steep for a disposable item and one that is in a drawer or glove box most of the time......OR am I missing something here?
The local markets are gearing up for the restaurant place mats now.....I think I got 3 this week.
What is working for you? What is most cost effective for you?

It's starting to become a little crowded outside the box. I think I'm going back inside.
I can't say that I necessarily do much that is too far outside the box, but in the grocery store I noticed that one agent was advertising on the divider bars between orders at the checkout.
Dan,
I agree! I don't see that being a very smart marketing tool.
Have a great weekend!
Promise not to tell anybody and I will share a very inexpensive and very effective marketing idea with you.
Write this message on the back of a business card. "Please call me. I have a question for you. Dan Brudnok"
Have your printer print this message in blue ink, so it looks original, on the backs of 2,000 of your business cards. During the month of October, knock on 2,000 doors and leave the card stuck in the door when there is no answer.
You will get calls and you will get listings. Repeat this process each month.
