We have decided to make some changes in our marketing.......looking for improvement and an edge.

John and I have subscribed to start a newsletter.  Something we discussed, yet knew it would be a bit of work and time consuming at least to start.  We also have never done anything ike this before.

The beauty of the program, we can personalize much of it.....and down the road maybe even share the mailing costs by placing advertising as well.

I hope that the many of my Active Rain family that have tried a newsletter will be able to give us some thoughts on their success and failure's while making it work.

Preacher golf
A preacher woke up one Sunday morning and looked outside and saw it was a beautiful day. He decided to skip church and go play golf. So he called the junior pastor at his church and told him he was sick and couldn't give the sermon. The junior pastor told him not to worry, he would deliver the sermon.

The pastor drove about 40 miles away from town to avoid being spotted. As he was setting up his first drive on the first hole, Jesus leaned over to God in heaven and asked him, "Are You going to let him get away with this?" God told Jesus not to worry, he would handle it.

Right as God said that, the preacher hit the drive of his life. The ball traveled all 450 feet to the green, bounced once, and rolled in the hole. The preacher was ecstatic. Jesus asked God,"Why would you let him do that?" God said, "Because, who is he gonna tell?"

It has happened.....and in just 6+ months.....I have reached 100,000 points.  I know that there is a true plus to this, and that is that I have made a choice to grow my business.

Active Rain has been a true resource for me and the stride I have made on the Internet, in my marketing and in my networking skills are proof that AR works!

I want to thank all who have taken the time to stop by and comment on my posts....and by doing so, I have found many new friends and ways to take what I learned here to the face to face networking opportunities.

I hope that I have contributed to the network and I will continue to share and learn in the future as well.

I wanted to rant a bit about an issue that to me is a no brainer.  When I list in any association that is NOT a detached single family one, I always ask the question....what is the association pet policy?

I have a Buyer that has a small dog looking for a Condo to buy.  We went last week to look at a few, The MLS for most had nothing about the pet policy, so I asked them repeatedly both the Agent's and the associations when I could find them.   Many didn't even bother to return my calls.

The first one we went to I had the green ligh fronm the listing Agent office.....when we arrived....NO PETS sign greeted us.  My Buyer was a bit unhappy.  I had three more associations to see and one of them had 5 units.  I tried all the Agent's again and received the following responses from four of them....

Agent 1.....absolutely, my Seller had a dog.  (turns out that is why they were moving, I found that out)

Agent 2.....good question, I will have to find out

Agent 3.....the association doc's say no, yet many have them so I would say you are safe.

Agent 4.....which did show it as "pet friendly".......turned out to be cat only friendly.....UGH!

Am I missing something here?

I now have spent many hours for my Buyer as not to be disappointed anymore.  Should this not be a common practice?

I have seen so much come from my time here in Active Rain.  At first I was skeptical, yet I persevered and now truly enjoy my daily Active Rain time.

I have seen many come into the family and how they embraced the site's opportunities.  I have made great strides here, yet I know I have much to learn and look forward to do so.

I approach 100,000 points and my wife remembers when she asked daily if it was worth my time.....the answer then was yes, now it is YES!!!!!!!!!
