The Teacher makes the class.....

Hello AR Family,

I just wanted to share the fact that I just completed and passed my Broker's Management class....YIPPEE!!!!  Just my Real Estate Law and a SRES course then the Broker's Exam.

This particular class was one I truly looked forward to and knew was a key to my future success and endeavors......

The class lived up to my expectations and I got plenty out of it.  The best part was that it was because of the Instructor of the class at The Real Estate School at Suburban West Realtor's Association Building in Malvern PA....his name is Courtney Franklin.  Courtney was energetic, personable, humorous, Professional, insightful, experienced, a great orator and most of all he was a regular guy (person)......making all believe that the future is bright for all who seek the knowledge to improve themselves and apply to our daily practice with an ethical manner and professionalism throughout the transaction and to all parties.

He made it so that you wanted to be involved in the class and we all knew we were getting more than our bang for your buck.  For those in the area, please take the opportunity when presented to have Courtney educate you.

Dealing wth Family and Close friends......SOI

Happy Friday All,

As I have written before, my new partner and licensee is coming to the hard facts that not everyone loves him.  Let me explain, it has mostly to do with family and close friends.

He has come to me a few three times with the look of disappointment.  Each time it had to do with the fact the the SOI he thought he had was looking at real estate and not with him.  Several of his connections as with most people seem like the deal more than anything else.  The biggest surprise is that they tell him about the deal as if it is okay......am I missing something here? 

Now I know the standard answer is that they wish to keep their personal information just that......HELLO, they have no problem letting us know when their kids take a bathroom break, come on now.....LOL.

I have tried to prepare him for this event, yet even for me it at times still truly stings.

If you have any advise that may help all of us ensure this type of thing is a true surprise and not the normal occurrence, it will be greatly appreciated.  How do you get past the "personal" issue?

Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing.....

We have set the date for the Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing.  We will hold the outing Monday October 13, 2008.  This years venue will once again be Whitford Country Club.

This years beneficiary will be the Terry Muzzy Foundation.

I will be providing more details later this week, I just wanted to get the information out ASAP.

Do it right the first time every time.....

I was having a conversation with a few new "friends" (I just met them at a social gathering) the other day and we got on the topic of service.

One of the people in the conversation was reflecting on a recent transaction at a local retail store.  She was telling me about how this store prides itself on "customer satisfaction".  Well the short of the story went like this, she wanted to ask a question on what to her was a confusion on a sale price.  The worker actually took the item that was not cooperating with a scan for the sale price and threw it at another co-worker and said this piece of crap *!*!*......you get my drift.  It was said very loudly and seen by many.

By the time the Supervisor arrived to assist,  this woman noticed that at least 4 other people around the store laid down their items and left the store.  An impression not good for the store at all.

The moral of the story.....You never get a second chance for that first impression.

In our industry, we must be at our best 24/7.  Now that does not mean we do not have a personal life....what I mean is that we never know who we may encounter or who will see us when we are having personal time.  We need out to practice each day the right way to act, this ensures that each day it becomes less work and more a part of who we are.  You never know, it could be our next Client and one who will make our jobs easier and more fulfilled.

Hot Days .....early in the season

Happy Sunday everyone,  staying cool I hope....we will be well into the 90"s today in the area. 

I have taken a thirty minute break at home, however the day will be a full one.  I did my daily touches through email today, I never call on Sunday.  After Church at Noon where I talked to at least a half dozen regulars,  I met with a client who is truly on the fence.  She really needs to sell and buy a more practical home ( her's is great, just not for her anymore).  She loves the area she lives in and today we saw what I feel hits 97% of her needs and wants.....time to move forward right?   NO.

She even went as far as to call in a second opinion I know she values.  I know she will truly benefit from the move, yet he is the only one who can make this happen.....she is a great friend and knows I have her best interest at heart.  She will be a Client, yet the timing will be all her's.

As I finish here now, I am heading to one of the many high school graduatiion parties the season offer's and a great networking opportunity.....no rest for the weary.  Do not get me wrong, I love to work....meeting and greeting people is such an opportunity to let everyone know what is going on in the industry, the market we share and make many new connections. 

I wish to be this busy everday.....and as I look at my schedule for the week I am bless with productive activities that I know will prove fruitful.   My new teamate now has his postcards ready to mail.....a group of over 500 names that are to find out he has made a career change and all of them homeowners.

Broker's License a bit closer...

I have always challanged myself no matter the job, sport or personal growth.

I have started my Office Management class for my Broker's license.  Today's class was very interactive and enthusiastic.....making for a fast and fun day.  The group in the class always makes or breaks it for me......the instructor was also a gamer.....he allowed us to share, yet kept us on point and moving through the material.

I hope to complete my needed classes by the end of the year.....RE Law is the nexy big one and then just a few electives....

By doing this I have shown myself that I take my profession very seriously, and I hope that my Client's see that as well.....knowing they are getting someone who care's about them enough to take the time to do so.
