Today we celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friend..... 

Today we reflect on all that we have and need to be grateful that we do.....

Today we have an opportunity to relax and regroup (many of us, not all) and get recharged for the balance of what has certainly been a challenging year for most of us.....

Today we offer a quiet moment to thank all of those in the Millitary that continue to provide the strength and opportunity for us to celebrate......

Today we remember all those brave soldiers a that have given of themselves for the principles that we hold so dear.....

Today we pray for those departed and their families that have suffered loss throughout the year....

What are you most thankful for?

At this time of the year, and more than most, we hope to reach out to those in our past that we have neglected to keep in touch.  Many of those individual's were those that we spent many times together and even considered "best" friends.

As we grow and change jobs we find that we drift at first and then lose total contact much to our chagrin.

I know that we all lose a part of ourselves every time this happens and hope that one day we can make this different.

Today as I am on the Rain I get a call from a great friend from my past, Danny Ross.  We live across the state form one another and we haven't had any personal contact since he retired from teaching about two years ago.

We exchange missed phone calls throughout the years and today was the day we connected.   What a great present and one that makes this time of the year truly magical.

We caught up and made a plan to get together soon.....a great Sunday surprise.

At times we look to ourselves and decide if we are good or bad......happy or sad.....successful or not........rich or poor.....

In reality while we can get a feel for who we are by looking within, nothing more shows exactly who and what we are than the company we keep.

The Faith you have and the family, friends and acquaintances we keep is the true measure of who we are.

The Church that you belong, the involvement you have in that Church and the people of your faith.....keep you centered and gives you the base from which the rest of your life is guided.

Add to that the family and friends and the true picture of you comes forth.

I wish all the happiest Thanksgiving from my family to yours.

Well my Steelers started the week's activity on a positive note for me.....they took care of business as they needed to by beating the Bengals on Thursday night.  The potential loss of Willie Parker is a trouble spot, especially for those of us who counted on him this year in our fantasy leagues.

The Eagles have a tough match-up with the Ravens.......and I would appreciate the Eagles assisting my Steelers by wining this week, yet it will not be easy.

Can the Favre era in NY make it a better story by a win over the undefeated Titans?  I say no, especially on the road.

Can the surprising Dolphins make it a sweep over the Pats? 

I must win for both the Colts and Chargers.....a game that could end one of their playoff hopes.

The same can be said of the of the Saints who face a tough game with the Packers.

Lastly, again I see the Cardinals who certainly control their destiny and have a HUGE lead in the NFC west, in a match-up that could make the season one that will go along way for them......they have struggled going east this year, and the opportunity to have the Giants at home is a big plus and one they can not let slip away.

Here is a notification and reminder from one of our local police authorities.....I have to imagine that most areas are feeling this type of increase.......you don't have to be the next one that has to file a report if you......

Please be aware that over the past month, there has been a sharp increase in car break-ins resulting in numerous thefts from vehicles.  The thieves have been entering unlocked vehicles and also forcibly entering vehicles by breaking windows.  Be proactive in all that you do and avoid the pitfalls of being a victim.

Attempt to park your car in well lit areas whenever possible

Remove ALL valuables from your vehicle, especiallyGPS units, satellite radios, handbags, wallets, loose change/money, garage door openers......someone may take a chance if you allow them the opportunity.

ALWAYS lock your vehicle and use an alarm if equipped......even if you are going back in 5 minutes.

Do not leave your vehicle running unattended.......those days have been long gone for me.

Report suspicious activity in your neighborhood IMMEDIATELY

Avoid having packages left on your front step.  Have a neighbor sign for them, or have them delivered to your office if you are away during the day.  Remember we can be our best source of protection for one another.

I am not referring to the fact it is "hump day" as many in the Real Estate profession know our week is quite different from the 9-5 Monday to Friday job.

As many of you know, Wednesday is very special to me as it is the day I spend in Adoration of our Lord.  This is my dedicated time I took when our Church open our Perpetual Adoration Chapel.

While I spend time every day in prayer and devotion to our Lord and from time to time I do stop in the Chapel on other days as well, this time has become one that I needed in my life and now could not live without.

The power of dedicating an hour of prayer, thanks and reflection with our Lord is time that you should have in your life too.......even if you can not make it to Him, have your special place and time set aside that is uninterrupted to give to God, He is everywhere and listening to you when you call......He deserves it and your dedication will not go unrewarded by Him.

Yesterday started as many in the last few months.....a good dose of phones calls and emails to my SOI.

Following up on many of the people that I have crossed paths and networked.

Then a call from someone that seemed to be a very log term project and one we believed that was at least 6-12 months off......HELLO, we want to see a house today......YIPPEE!

This a property that was listed late last year and then did not sell and went off the market.....it came back on about 30 days ago and with a price much more in line with the market.

The showing happened at 11 AM......back to the office to meet with our mortgage officer (they had a pre-approval, but it was old) and an Agreement of Sale written.

While no deal yet, I believe that we were a bit aggressive in our requests and hope to negotiate a Win-Win for all.

Stay tuned for the results.......OH did I mention, First Time Home Buyer's.

I have the day to get caught up on much of what I need to today.  Beverly is traveling for a few days, she left after Church today.  I hope to set the upcoming week up for success by clearing my table today.

In the background is the Eagle's game.  I took a few minutes to set my "fantasy" line-up and listened to a few of the TV host experts.

I do agree that many of the BIG named usual suspects have a make or break week game today.

The Eagles have to beat the Bengals today on the road and try to keep pace in the NFL east, in last place and 0 - 3 in the division.

My beloved Steelers while leading their division, have in my humble opinion, given away all three of their losses by just not seeming hungry.   If they lose this week at home to the Chargers they will be lucky to make it far in the playoffs....if they even make it.

The Falcons and Broncos.......who thought that the Falcons would compete.....yet Matt Ryan is making a name for himself.....the Broncos play in the AFC west and while their offense has had some very big weeks, their defense makes the rest of the season a toss up in regards to their success.

The last one I will comment on is the Cardinals and Seahawks.....I have been a huge Kurt Warner fan and would love to see him succeed again in his career and especially with this organization that would greatly benefit from a playoff run and more.....the Seahawks get Hasselback back, however they are a lame duck team with their coach taking a break at the end of the year.

These are my thoughts. I would like to hear from others who think their or any team will make this week a defining one for them.....the Ravens?.....The Saints?.....the Pack?

Today the weather here in the Philly area is changing for what is a normal November temperature range.

I always like it cooler than hotter, yet now comes the issue of being prepared for many other factors.....rain turning to ice, snow and ice and slushy remnants of the snow and ice. 

We have to be prepared for all of the above in order to service our Client and the owners of the homes we visit.  Remember to respect the home

- if necessary take off your messy shoes when you do your showings, keep the floors clean for the next showing and the family themselves

- keep boots in your car when you need to walk that property during or just after messy weather

- keep a shovel and a bag of salt in your car just in case

- keep your cell phones charged and vechile fueled and prepared for the weather

- keep a change of cloths, at least jeans and a sweatshirt for those times when you hit the ground and get a laugh (oh yes it has happened, you can admit it)

- keep some simple snacks and water as well and remember to stop for that hot chocolate and coffee while you journey through the day
