Palm Springs, CA....always a good time!

Fellow Golfers,

Next week my Brother in Law and I are heading to Palm Springs for some R & R....I am fortunate that he has a great home out there.

We usually play at the Ranch Mirage Country Club....and work the three course while we are there.  My favorite is the Dinah Shore used for the LPGA.  The Pete Dye and the Arnold Palmer there always give me a hard time.  I shot my best about a year ago on the Dinah Shore....don't laugh for me the 89 was a best since the early 1990's.

We are always on the lookout for other opportunities in the same vane as these ones we play.

Also for the post 19th hole festivities if anyone cares to comment....we are in are latter 40's so be kind.

I hope all have a great weekend.

Heading to Palm Springs for some R & R....

Good day....just a quick note to say that while I do not partake of a cigar on a regular basis, there are those times.

Like next week when my Brother in Law head to his home in Palm Springs for 5 days of golf, racquetball, making new friends and unwinding.  THIS is the time when a great cigar will not only be enjoyed it will be savored.

We usually go to Palm Dessert to a place across the street from the Tommy Bahama store and restaurant (a great place to socialize).  The selection is good and the owner very accommodating to the novice.

We are always on the lookout for any good suggestions....have a great weekend everyone!

Keeping the Faith will make it better for all of us....

I just wanted to say hello to all in this wonderful group.  I hope to be able to contribute and more importantly continue to learn how to be a better person and then be a better Realtor.

I know that if everyone would keep their true Faith in their business practice, we would see a better world.  too many times I have dealt with Agents that made me shake my head as to how they truly live with themselves.  I hope and pray that I have NOT had that effect on anyone I have dealt with...I really try not to.

I hope all have a great week and I know that keeping ourFaith strong in the face of all that we do will only enhance all our relationships.

To Team or not To Team....that is my question.....

I am asking the Active Rain Family to help me decide if a "team" is best for me.  I have had some general talks with my Broker and even a few teams in my office.  Call me a skeptic; however I wanted to step away from my office and even my community to get the feedback to make this decision.  I wanted to see how others all over are involved in their team...and if not involved in a team, why not.

Here is the knowledge that I seek;

Why did you get involved in a team?

How is your team set up....are there certain Buyer's Agents?...Seller's Agent's?  Does it have to setup this way?

How is the advertising cost split?  Are there any "usual" costs I may not be aware of when you have a team?

Are there people handlers and paper handlers in the group?  Besides individual talent, is there anything else that determines a role?

How are the commissions split?   Are the commissions split?   What determines the split?

Does a team usually have a leader?  If so what is that role of the leader?   Can it be set up as an equal partnership?

How detailed must the written agreement be?  Do you need an Attorney to handle?

Is there usually a buy-in for all involved?  Does your portion of the buy-in dictate your portion of the income?

Are there any advantages/disadvantages of joining an established group?

Is it more difficult dealing with an Agent who is part of a group?  I guess I am after if that Agent can make decisions or does that agent need to pole the "team" before any decision is made?

I want to say thank you to all who will comment on all or any part of this, and I will be evaluating this to see if this is where I need or want to be in 2008.

While I have used I many times in this post....I know that there is NO "I" in the word TEAM!

Is this Computer thing going to last?

This is just a simple request, from a very simple person.....I am getting better at this computer fad that is going on....now I need a bit of help and who better than my fellow Active Rain community.

I am in need of getting a blog I wrote in word with photo's to my blog in Active Rain.

I am looking for any and all direction on what to do or just a starting place to find out how to do myself.....and I will appreciate the same for any other juicy tidbits on any other tricks of the trade so to speak.

I guess I need to also get in on that other crazy thing the kids are all into......and buy myself one of those cellular telephones, I really like the rotary dial ones....thanks to all who will take the time to aid the less fortunate.

Why take the time to read and not comment?

I am wondering if this is common for Active Rain.  Below is my activity for my blogs:

DateTitleCommentsViews What are views? Clicks What are clicks?

The ratio between views and conments seems way out of whack.  I am new to Active Rain, however is this ratio good?  I would think that if you take the time to read a blog you would comment, I do.  Myabe I am making too much of the views....and this happens for all.  Maybe the ratio is good, I guess only time will tell.

I want to be a good blogger.....constructive feedback (if I am missing the whole point of useful blog's) would seem to be the best way to ensure that my content comes up to par and then I will become a positive contributing member of active Rain.  No sour grapes here....I am just tring to be the best I can be for all of us.

Thank you to all that have taken the time to comment and I hope to hear from you again.

The Breast Cancer 3 Day 60 Mile Walk.....Why I do it you ask?

Good Morning Everyone,

I am writing today because 1 week from now I will recovering from my 3 day - 60 mile walk in support of a Breast Cancer Cure.  Below is my link to my site for the walk.  Please take a few minute's to see what a wonderful experience this is and how you can get involved.

http://www.the3day.org/philadelphia07/danrealestateman

I am not asking for your financial support.....I have not asked anyone for that support.....I just want to spread the word and Active Rain allows me this forum.  Everyone I come in contact with unfortunately has had an arms length contact with someone who has suffered from Breast Cancer or knows someone who has.  I myself have experienced the effects through my wife Beverly, who's Mother beat it in the 70's....only to lose to it in the 90's.  Bev and her two Sisters live every day with the fear that they could be next.....Breast Cancer is hereditary.  We all know that today early diagnosis is the key to help outrun and even beat this devastating disease.

They became involved in the fight for a cure the Mother's Day after their Mother passed to honor their Mother.  They paid the entry fee and raised additional money and support and joined in the Mother's Day 3+ walk/run in Philadelphia.  Since the second year they entered this event, the entire family now walks for the Cure.  We have since grown in our group to over 20 people every Mother's Day.

In 2005 the 3 Sister's took it a step further and joined the Breast Cancer 3 Day - 60 mile walk, which is a national event that takes place in Philadelphia (this event also takes place in 12 cities total).  They did it with a group of 10 women on their team, and each walker must raise $2,200.00 to enter.   A hard, emotional and deeply satisfying experience had a spiritual growth each could not have imagined.  Despite the blister's, aching bones and months of long training days they did it again in 2006 (the team grew to 14)......and now in 2007 the group is up to 18 and along with me this year are my two Brother -in - Laws.

All I ask that you take a minute to see how you can become involved in the battle to find a cure for this disease and please keep all of us and ALL the walkers in every city in your thoughts and prayers.....thank you.
